Susan S. Mahaffee, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, NDCCDP is a Human Resource Leader and former Chief People Officer, who brings expert advice from vast experience spanning both public and private multinational companies as well as family-owned businesses. She has served in a variety of positions in established organizations such as Mars Inc, Waste Management, Office Depot, and AECOM at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). This experience is underscored by numerous professional certifications from Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), National Diversity Council, Wharton Executive Education and Change Management (PROSCI). She holds an MBA in Global Business Leadership from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. Today, Susan is the President + Founder of People Rise LLC, a HR consulting firm focused on providing subject matter expertise from actual experience. People Rise empowers through practical and sharable tools, exercises, processes and advice. Focusing on bringing out the better in people allows them rise in any situation. She makes her home with her nine-year old son outside of Annapolis, Maryland.
