Executive Director – Refuge for Women Las Vegas

Refuge for Women is a non-profit, faith based organization providing specialized long-term care for women who have escaped human trafficking or sexual exploitation. With multiple locations across the U.S., Refuge for Women offers up to twelve months of safe housing, at no charge to the resident, with around the clock care as residents progress through evidence-based, trauma-informed programming.

The top priorities of the Executive Director (ED) are fundraising and successful operation of the Refuge for Women residential programs. The ED is expected to be well-connected and intimately involved with fundraising to ensure financial sustainability of the local program through major donor acquisition, relationship management, and strategic fundraising and communications. In addition, this position will work effectively with the Program Director, National staff, and Advisory Board to oversee local operation. The ED is committed to the values, mission, and vision of Refuge for Women and has the skills and experience to lead, collaborate and oversee the local residential program. This position requires strong networking and professional communications skills with the ability to handle changing priorities, crisis situations, and challenges with courtesy and grace as a representative of Refuge for Women.

Primary fundraising responsibilities include working with the President and Advisory Board to develop and implement strategic revenue generation, recognizing and retaining existing donors, developing and managing relationships with major donors and prospective donors as well as developing community relationships and networking with existing ministries.

Primary program and organization responsibilities include ensuring residential program is appropriately staffed, implementing onboarding program and ongoing training, scheduling/leading staff meetings, recruiting/leading board members, and working closely with the national team to implement Refuge for Women’s policies, procedures and reporting mechanisms.

The successful candidate will have proven experience with fundraising, soliciting and securing gifts, 5-10 years of executive ministry experience, program management capabilities, and ability to maintain relationships with influential individuals and maintain a high level of confidentiality. In addition, they should be proficient with computer skills and have a familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Strong communication via email, social media, video conferencing and in-person is necessary. Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred.
