Care Coordinator/Resident Guide Job Description 

Location: San Diego County

Immediate Supervisor: Residential Program Specialist 

Job Description: The Care Coordinator/Resident Guide position is considered a “vocation” rather than a “job” in many ways. This position is often the most impactful role in supporting our resident’s spiritual life while in our comprehensive program. Being a Care Coordinator/Resident Guide involves living with formerly sex trafficked women. This includes helping them with daily transitions, loving them where they are at, supporting the resident’s emotional and spiritual health, and making sure the house runs smoothly. This role is a calling that requires a heart for the women, a strong spiritual foundation, a desire to support their journey of growth and change, and skills in boundary-setting and healthy communication. This position is a live-in role that includes accommodation. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • To oversee the operation of the home and to directly be responsible for integrating and administering all operations. 
  • To promote a team approach to problem solving and goal setting, in cooperation with the immediate supervisor / other team members. 
  • To provide up to date, timely, and ongoing reporting on residents and home to the immediate supervisor and team. 
  • To collaborate with the team on resident’s issues, strengths and concerns. 
  • To continuously analyze the effectiveness of the home activities, to search for ways to improve and to provide recommendations to the team. 
  • To present updates at staff meetings. 
  • To keep the home and property in a clean and orderly condition at all times. 
  • To keep track of all household supplies and keep necessary items stocked. 
  • To help residents settle in and feel at home. 
  • To provide basic life skills such as housekeeping skills, personal hygiene, grocery shopping, nutritious meal preparations, sleep routine, fitness, etc. 
  • To ensure that clear communications between the home and immediate supervisor is maintained and any problems are dealt with immediately through appropriate channels. 
  • To reach out and comfort and communicate with each resident. 
  • To care for resident needs between program hours with understanding and care, to remain available during “on” hours. 
  • To assist residents with efficient living skills (chores, grocery shopping, etc.). 
  • To assist residents with peer struggles or other issues that may arise. 
  • To maintain a calm and comfortable setting within the house. 
  • To assist residents via observation with loading their weekly medication box, ensuring that they are reviewing the name of each medication and the dose to help them with awareness of their medications. 4025 Camino del Rio South, Suite 300, San Diego, CA 92108 | GenerateHope.org 
  • To assist each new resident with a clean and welcoming bedroom, a welcome basket of toiletries, etc., a new robe, PJs, under garments and needed personal items to get started at GenerateHope. 
  • To help new residents get settled in and oriented to Residential Agreements, etc. 
  • To run random urine drug screens as needed. 
  • To assure that chores are completed correctly with encouraging direction. 
  • To transport clients in the GenerateHope van to evening and weekend activities. 
  • To set healthy boundaries for self-care, setting an example for the women. 
  • To coordinate evening and weekend volunteers and volunteer groups, as needed. 
  • To balance time within their on-hours for administrative duties, setting boundaries with the women as needed. 
  • Other duties as required.
