Academic Instructor Job Description

Location: Northern Colorado

GenerateHope is seeking an Academic Instructor for our Northern Colorado location. The Academic Instructor is charged with crafting, delivering, and leading the education and vocation program at GenerateHope. Such work is subject to the good faith approval of the Program Manager on a quarterly basis. This program includes direct instruction, individualized support, adjunct courses, community-based activities, workshops, vocational coaching and other programing elements designed to meet the education and vocational needs of residents at GenerateHope. 

The Academic Instructor is committed to GenerateHope’s core values, mission and vision and has the ability, experience and education to administer and interpret career assessments; ability to create, develop and conduct career education programs; ability to develop strategic alliances with the academic and employment community. Teach academic classes and lead residents in a trauma integrated manner with care and commitment through best practices toward their academic and vocational goals. This is a part-time position. 

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Degree in educational counseling or related field preferred. Experience in adult education/educational programs is a plus. 


  • Proven teaching and leadership capabilities 
  • Knowledge of career counseling theory and job search methodology 
  • Commitment to supporting diversity, equity and inclusion 
  • High energy, positive attitude, team player, self-motivated and attention to detail 
  • Computer literacy; strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Commitment to trauma integrated care 
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively with understanding of academic scaffolding 
  • Familiarity with human trafficking, trauma recovery and academic remediation 
  • Experience with at-risk student struggles and successes
