NTSA & Atlas Free: NTSA’s Path Forward

NTSA & Atlas Free: NTSA’s Path Forward

A Heartfelt Goodbye for Melissa Yao, our Executive Director

NTSA has emerged as a crucial part of the national anti-trafficking field, paving the way for quality care and easier access to care for survivors. In the past five years, NTSA has helped over 2,300 survivors access the support they need to walk through their healing journey. NTSA has supported over 120 organizations to enhance their services.

In light of NTSA’s stability, Melissa offered her 6-month resignation in December 2023, knowing her passion and drive lean toward innovation and new initiatives. Through careful planning, Melissa, NTSA’s board, and the staff are looking forward to this next season for NTSA, knowing there is more work to do.

Our team is grateful for Melissa’s time leading NTSA, and we are excited for what she will do next for the anti-trafficking field.

What is next for NTSA?

After careful consideration and reflection on Melissa’s transition, the NTSA board believes that joining forces with a larger nonprofit will provide us with the resources, stability, and strategic support needed to expand our reach and effectiveness in combating trafficking and supporting survivors, with minimal interruption to NTSA services.

With that, NTSA pursued the idea of having its programming continue to operate within a larger nonprofit organization in the anti-trafficking space. The NTSA board and leadership created a systematic process for evaluating 15 potential organizations with multiple categories under consideration. The process was objective and thorough to ensure NTSA’s next season is both impactful and sustainable.

Through that process, we are excited to announce that the board has chosen to move forward with Atlas Free!

Why Atlas Free?

As one of the largest network organizations combating human trafficking, Atlas Free shares NTSA’s commitment to empowering, resourcing, and uniting the fight for freedom. With a shared belief that everyone was made for freedom and a commitment to seeing survivors thrive, within Atlas Free, NTSA’s programs will continue to serve more survivors.

As Atlas Free adopts NTSA’s staff and programming, we invite you to a webinar where NTSA and Atlas Free will host a joint discussion, offering you the details about what this means for members, referral system users, and partners!
